The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is one of the fastest growing areas in the country, and since 2000 over 87% of that growth has occurred outside the city of Dallas. The most rapidly growing part of metroplex is Denton County, specifically the corridor between Dallas and Fort Worth extending north to the Oklahoma border. Denton County’s population has grown from 685,740 in 2011 to over 1M in 2021.
Denton is currently growing at rate of 2.23% annually and has seen its population increase by over 30% in the last decade. That growth is expected to continue with two developments planned that will combine for 30,000 new homes in the next 10-20 years.
